Prince Claus Chair: 20 Years of Excellence in Equity and Development

The Prince Claus Chair is proud to present its 2023-2024 Highlights Report, marking two decades of fostering academic excellence and international collaboration in equity and development.

This year, we celebrate the impactful work of our Chairholders:

• Professor Fatima Denton: Exploring power dynamics in climate diplomacy and advocating for justice in green development.
• Professor Sebastián Ureta: Pioneering research on citizen technoscience for environmental action across Latin America.
• Professor Shazly Savahl: Championing child and youth well-being through innovative research and policy advocacy.

Key achievements include:

• 3 chairholders from 3 continents driving change in their respective fields
• 2 inaugural lectures delivered, sparking important discussions on global challenges
• A 20th anniversary celebration attended by over 150 thought leaders, including Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands
• Ongoing projects addressing climate justice, environmental monitoring, and youth empowerment
