Workshop on Citizen Technoscience in Latin America and the Netherlands: Exploring Paths for Reflection and Collaboration
đź“… Dates: Thursday 3 & Friday 4 April 2025
đź“Ť Location: International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague
What can researchers, citizens, and other stakeholders in citizen science in Latin America and the Netherlands learn from each other? How can they collaborate to ensure citizen science and technologies facilitate participatory, inclusive, and sustainable ways of measuring and addressing local manifestations of environmental degradation?
This workshop will explore the present and future of citizen science and technologies in understanding and addressing ecological challenges. Together with researchers and practitioners, we’ll discuss insights from the Prince Claus Chair on Citizen Technoscience and probe paths for collaboration and possibilities for social, ecological, and institutional transformation in Latin America, the Netherlands, and beyond.
